ongoing post

Ongoing things that I notice throughout pregnancy

1. Early pregnancy bump: gets some interesting stares. Is she fat, pregnant, or both? Hm....

2. Larger early pregnancy bump: strangers want to touch while asking "How far along are you?". This isn't strange coming from family or friends, especially when the bump grows with every time they see me. But a stranger? I don't really want to shake your hand, much less have you touch my stomach (which still feels a little jiggly, like I just ate about forty too many burritos).

I have to preface my next comment - I work in a facility with a wide range of cognitive and dementia presentations, from 100% lucid 100% of the time to about 0% lucid 100% of the time. There is one lady at work, that if she notices my belly sticking out, she will make a beeline to come and "pat" my belly. And it's more of a smack than a pat. I can sneakily cover my belly with carrying paperwork or folders or turning, but I have a sneaking suspicion that is not going to continue to work for very long.

3. Crazy noises: My body makes some crazy noises. I'm not sure where they originate, or where they end up, but they are amusing.

4. Movement: No movement yet, except I feel gas moving around in there. Refer back to #3, crazy noises!

5. Nausea: it comes and goes. Currently I feel okay. April 4 & 5 I had nausea in the mornings for the first time. Ugh, nasty. I don't like being sick at home, much less at work. It's always nice to text your boss in the morning and say "I'm ready for work, but my face is in the toilet... see you soon". Good thing she's my friend and also just went through a tough pregnancy last summer.

6. Memory: Not sure what I wanted to say about this, but it obviously had something to do with not being ableo to remember things...

Will continue to update this throughout the pregnancy (if I remember)...
