I know that there is a baby in my belly (well technically in my uterus in my abdomen, but you know what I mean). I know it's a little baby. Growing each and every week. This week she is the size of an eggplant, she has grown for 24 weeks and has about 15 weeks to go. Her ears have developed so she can hear me singing (yes, I sing at the top of my lungs in the car) and can hear loud radios (again, in the car!). She can also hear loud noises like sirens, crashes, thunder, etc. Her eyes are still developing, but she can tell if my belly is in the bright light or in the dark. And she's only about 9 inches long.
Currently I am at +14 lbs. I am wearing mostly all maternity clothes. I have a friend who lent me four large rubbermaid tubs FULL of maternity clothes. Unfortunatly, I am not an average size woman. I couldn't wear any of the pants, and the shorts were definitely too short. Some of the tops are more like half-tops. So I ended up getting two pair of jeans, two pair of khakis and some maternity tops a while back on super-sale at old navy and target. So far they have worked pretty well, no issues there. But my issue is that it's currently 100+ degrees and I still have all of July, August, & September. Sometimes October is hot in G-vegas, so I broke down and bought some maternity shorts.
Okay that was a long tangent.... so I know it's a baby in my belly. But sometimes I get these crazy visions of what she's up to in there. Today, it felt like she was a little swimmer practicing her flip turn. Earlier, she was a drummer practicing her beat on anything bouncy (diaphragm, bladder, etc). She is moving around quite a bit, and I can feel it throughout the day. Sometimes you can feel it from the outside, and sometimes you can SEE it from the outside. Little kicks and flutters, make me wonder what she's up to in there!
Nursery progress: we have the crib put together, mattress in place. I have the fabric to make a crib skirt. I have an old rocking chair- my grandmother gave it to my mother when she was pregnant with me. I can see it now: "Cadence, this chair is special because Nana rocked mommy in this chair when she was a baby." Great generational piece! We have a dresser and will put a changing pad on top of the piece. I think I've mentioned before, but we decided to leave the guest bed setup (for guests, but for mommy's late nights when she starts sleeping in the crib). I have also asked each of my siblings to create some kind of artpiece or something that Cadence can keep as she grows. Can't wait to see what they all create!
Done rambling! Hope all is well! :)
