it's a lime sized baby!

I have decided to start a blog so that my family and friends can follow what's going on in the life of growing baby r--- (BR).  We will see if I can keep up with it!

I am currently 10 weeks along.  The picture above was at 8 weeks.  The "what to expect" app says that my baby is the size of a lime, but I'm pretty sure we've got a tall baby on our hands growing in there.

Right now things are going great okay.  Mornings are really good (I gag occasionally, and have to sit down and "breathe" at work, but not too bad).  But evenings are usually a game.  A game to see if BR approves of my dinner.  There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this approval process.  Some things make it past the filter, other times- they are returned.  And by returned, I mean the dinner is returned not so beautifully in the porcelain throne, along with many of my tears.  Not a pretty sight.

I don't have a bump to speak of, but my pants don't fit.  Nor do I want them to.  Any kind of pressure or fabric sitting on my stomach for long periods of time, at this point in time, is unsettling.

We have some appointments set:
Mid-April to hear the heartbeat with doplar.
End of April for a checkup on my lady parts.
May 15th - to find out if BR is a little girl or a little boy.

POTENTIAL DUE DATE: October 20, 2012. Any bets: early? on time? late?

We've got a 50/50 battle going on.  Of course, we ultimately are going to be thrilled for a happy and healthy baby, and we are so thankful that we were able to conceive! How exciting!!!  But there is nothing wrong with a little friendly competition until the ides of may! I'm on "team pink", and JR (the hubby) is on "team blue".  Right now I feel like it's a little girl - I've been having dreams about baby girls, and every time I flip to the radio it's a song about baby girls.  Just have that "feeling", but we will see.  My "thoughts" could change tomorrow, or I could be completely wrong (which is usually the case anyway)!

We are going to be converting the guest bedroom into BR's room.  We are going to keep the guest bed setup (for guests and for late night mommy & daddy crashes).  When we have guests over, we will have BR downstairs or in the "man room" in a pack-&-play most likely.  In our current house, that is the best layout.  I (of course) will post pictures later! :)

We had considered a move to be closer to family and in a bigger city to provide more amenities and activities for our growing family, however, at this time we are putting that on hold until next year for the time being.  My job can move/convert at any time, and this will give JR some time to look for positions and find his dream job! I also don't want to move while I'm big and fat, and I certainly don't want to have to worry about finding a new doctor.  That's a major transition, and not something you want to do when you're pregnant.

Alright! I hope you all enjoy!  Leave comments with questions or email me ideas that you would like me to post about!  See you soon!

  1. Love the start of your new blog! I'm going to have to pick team blue - just a feeling. I was on team blue with "Little Sweetie" and totally wrong, oh well for mother-ly instincts!

Oh... Can't believe you are already 10 weeks! How exciting. Can't wait to watch that baby bump grow! Take it easy - love you!

  3. Nana and Grampy are on team pink, but we will be thrilled with a boy as well. We have loved shopping for the crib, the first Christmas PJ's, looking for Amanda's pick of strollers, and I'm now on a mission to find the perfect Easter basket, so she/he can use it for egg hunting and then as a center piece for the table when she/he has their very own home....just like mommy Amanda. Can't wait till mommy feels better....this will be one of the best experiences of her life! Love all 3 of you!
